I first connected with Dennis when I started at what was then RespectAbility, and have had the privilege of working with him during his tenure with Disability BelongsTM and our continued collaboration across disability advocacy, media, and community spaces. Dennis is a leader whose impact is both profound and deeply human. Dennis brings an extraordinary combination of lived experience, strategic insight, and care-centered leadership. As a queer, partially blind, late-identified autistic-ADHDer, he transforms personal insight into systemic change, whether consulting on authentic disability representation in entertainment, mentoring emerging advocates, or advising organizations on inclusive design, neurodiversity-affirming environment, and storytelling. During the Fellowship and beyond, one of Dennis’ most notable contributions is his invaluable consultation to the show Blue’s Clues & You for the show’s first-ever autistic character, Lavender. What sets Dennis apart is not only the breadth of his work but the integrity with which he leads. He builds bridges across sectors while centering those most often left out of the conversation. His commitment to Disability BelongsTM’ mission is ongoing, values-aligned, and rooted in community accountability. Dennis does not seek visibility for himself alone; he consistently creates space for others. In fact, my own relationship with Dennis is longer than my own diagnosis journey – Dennis was one of first people I told when I learned of own late ADHD diagnosis, and I have appreciated his support, guidance and empathy throughout this process. His leadership reflects the future of disability advocacy: intersectional, relational, and transformative. I wholehearted reccomend Dennis Tran and and am confident his continued work will shape more inclusive and representative systems for years to come.
